Accounting is much more than crunching numbers. In fact, increasingly powerful software does most of that work now. Accountants today are tech-savvy problem solvers, insightful planners and strategic thinkers. And you can be one.

The accounting program at ÌÇÐÄvlogÈë¿Ú-Cascades takes a rigorous and comprehensive approach to teaching the language and science of business. You’ll develop the skills needed to analyze financial statements, assess investment options, design and execute audits, consult on risk exposure and design information systems. You’ll graduate ready to work in a respected profession that’s in demand across industries, nonprofits and government.

Options:

  • Information Security, Assurance and Analytics: Prepare for a career addressing the impact of big data, information management and information systems auditing.
  • International Business: Gain additional skills and a global perspective for careers at multinational firms, global financial service organizations and international trade centers.

Hybrid: Primarily in-person, includes a mix of in-person and courses delivered online through Ecampus.

Degree Requirements

A total of 180 quarter credits are required to graduate, including 60 upper-division credits. Requirements include:

  • Electives if needed to meet the 180 credits, at least 60 upper-division credits

State scholarship addresses accountant shortage

To address the shortage of certified public accountants, the Oregon State Legislature established the Oregon Board of Accountancy Pipeline Fund, a $1 million, needs-based scholarship program for students seeking higher education in accounting. The application will open in early 2026 and scholarships will be awarded starting in the 2026 spring term.
