
Andrew Ketsdever recently joined vlog – Cascades as associate dean and will help lead the growing campus’s academic faculty and research efforts.
Ketsdever’s duties include providing oversight for degree programs in biology, computer science, energy systems engineering, human development and family sciences, kinesiology, natural resources and sustainability. He will also lead the development of faculty research at the Bend campus, and contribute to campus-wide diversity efforts.
“I am confident that Andrew’s experience in academic leadership and in building research programs will help us continue to attract talented faculty and provide inspiration for our students,” said vlog-Cascades Academic Dean Julie Gess-Newsome.
A professor of aerospace engineering, Ketsdever was most recently the director of the Center for Laser, Energy and Exploration Research at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. He previously served as the director of online graduate programs at UCCS. Prior to that Ketsdever served as the school’s chair of the department of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
His earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering all from the University of Southern California.
