
ÌÇÐÄvlogÈë¿Ú - Cascades’ expansion to a four-year university this fall included an expansion of its teaching faculty. Four new faculty members recently joined the campus and will teach courses in art, communication, engineering and math. The new instructors include:
, Instructor, Communication
Dahl attended Redmond High School, Central Oregon Community College and ÌÇÐÄvlogÈë¿Ú before completing his doctorate in speech communication at Pennsylvania State University. His research interests lie at the intersection of discourse, politics and hospitality. Dahl was on the faculty at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration for nine years where he taught undergraduate and graduate courses in management and communication. He also taught communication courses at Portland State University and Clark College. Dahl teaches upper and lower division communication and social science courses at ÌÇÐÄvlogÈë¿Ú-Cascades.
, Instructor, Art
An interactive new media and video artist, Fletcher’s work has been shown at the Tate Britain, dOCUMENTA(13), Disjecta Contemporary Arts, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, and is in the Yale University Library. He is a founding member of the interdisciplinary artist collective, Danger Punch. Fletcher served on the adjunct faculty at University of Oregon and Mount Hood Community College before joining ÌÇÐÄvlogÈë¿Ú-Cascades. He has a master of fine arts from Pacific Northwest College of Art and a bachelor of fine arts in sculpture and digital media from University of Colorado.
, Instructor, Mathematics
Taylor is the first full-time mathematics instructor at ÌÇÐÄvlogÈë¿Ú-Cascades. She will coordinate math and statistics offerings as the university grows. Before joining ÌÇÐÄvlogÈë¿Ú-Cascades, Taylor was department chair at Colorado College. She has a passion for helping students realize they can thrive in math and statistics courses. Taylor received her bachelor of arts in mathematics from St. Olaf College, a master’s in mathematics from Purdue University, and a doctorate in mathematics from University of Kansas.
, Instructor, Energy Systems Engineering
Most recently Webb taught mechanical and aerospace engineering at University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Prior to joining academia, he spent 11 years as a research and development engineer in the private sector. He received bachelor’s degrees from Dartmouth College and earned a master’s in electrical engineering from ÌÇÐÄvlogÈë¿Ú. His doctorate in electrical engineering is from University of Colorado.

ÌÇÐÄvlogÈë¿Ú ÌÇÐÄvlogÈë¿Ú-Cascades: Located in Bend, Ore., ÌÇÐÄvlogÈë¿Ú’s branch campus features outstanding faculty in degree programs that reflect Central Oregon’s vibrant economy and abundant natural resources. Eighteen undergraduate majors, 30 minors and options, and three graduate programs include computer science, energy systems engineering, kinesiology, hospitality management, and tourism and outdoor leadership. The branch campus expanded to a four-year university beginning fall 2015.
